OVERVIEW

Thomas Nagy Ltd. partnered with C2C to upgrade the platform lighting at Limehouse Station. This project focused on replacing outdated lighting systems with energy-efficient LED fixtures to improve visibility, enhance passenger safety, and reduce energy consumption.

Spanning six weeks, the project was completed with minimal disruption to the station’s daily operations, ensuring continued service for thousands of commuters.

Energy consumption reduced by 20% with LED installation.

6 weeks to upgrade lighting across 2 platforms.

CHALLENGES

As a busy commuter station, Limehouse posed unique challenges for the project. Work had to be carried out during limited off-peak hours to ensure uninterrupted service during the day.

The station’s confined spaces and high foot traffic required detailed logistical planning to ensure safety for both workers and passengers. Additionally, all upgrades had to comply with C2C’s rigorous safety and quality standards.

99.5% of station services remained operational during the project.

Zero safety incidents across the 6-week period.

RESULTS

The platform lighting upgrade was completed on schedule and within budget, delivering significant improvements in visibility and energy efficiency.

The new LED system has enhanced the passenger experience, reduced C2C’s operational costs, and reinforced Limehouse Station’s reputation as a safe and well-maintained transit hub.

The success of the project has strengthened the relationship between Thomas Nagy Ltd. and C2C.
